Reese Witherspoon, Alessandra Ambrosio Celebrate Christian Louboutin's New L.A. Boutique
"We have three stores in New York — and L.A. is bigger than New York geographically," explained shoe designer to the stars Christian Louboutin — clad in an orange Lacoste golf shirt, a white tailored jacket, black trousers and a pair of his burgundy and white brogues —of why he decided to open a two-story boutique at the Brentwood Country Mart in addition to his two current storefronts on Robertson Blvd.
To celebrate the occasion, he was toasted by guests Reese Witherspoon, Shannon Rotenberg, Nathan Turner, Clare Vivier, stylists Elizabeth Stewart and Petra Flannery, Minnie Mortimer, Jenni Kayne, Molly Sims, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karolina Kurkova and Country Mart owner Jim Rosenfield at both the store and then an intimate dinner table at the farm-to-table restaurant Farmshop in Brentwood Country Mart on Thursday night.
"I'm French and we don't give speeches," said Louboutin when asked to greet guests at the table. "But I'm really here because when I met Jim, I sensed his passion and that's what we have in common and I relate to."
Afterwards, the jovial host and globetrotter shopped the restaurant's selection of French cheeses with guests and of course, admired everyone's choice in shoes (all unanimously by him). And he promised he'd be back in Los Angeles in November. "I really love it here," he said. "If I was to live in the U.S., I would definitely live here. There's everything here now." A Louboutin store on the westside, included.
