Vogue Italia's upcoming issue celebrates the timeless, ageless beauty of women. Photographer Steven Meisel shot the cover photos, which feature a collage of fashionable women — including Stockard Channing, Jan de Villeneuve and Frankie Rayder.
The Italian fashion publication made headlines last month for a mysterious photographer change. The June 2015 issue — which was also the magazine's highly-anticipated "China Issue" — marked the first time since 1988 that someone other than Meisel had been behind the lens for a Vogue Italia cover.
Editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani tapped Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein, Craig McDean and duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot to each contribute a cover.
Even with Meisel's return for Vogue Italia's August 2015 issue, photographer Bruce Weber lensed the upcoming issue's editorials — which feature models from toddlers to women well into their 80s, according to Fashionista.
Model China Machado, nine-year-old Kristina Pimenova, Sasha Pivovarova's three-year-old daughter Mia Isis Vishnyakov and Cindy Crawford's look-alike daughter Kaia Gerber are all featured in the upcoming Vogue Italia editorial.
Meisel was the man behind several of Crawford's most iconic images. His Vogue Italia covers have also launched the careers of many successful models — including Yuan Bo Chao, Fernanda Hin Lin Ly, Fei Fei Sun and Xiao Wen Ju.
The issue will hit stands later this month. The concept behind it is supposed to be different from the "age issue," which many other publications have attempted in the past.
As previously reported, Meisel did shoot W Magazine's June/July 2015 cover, which features Jane Fonda. Additionally, he shot American Vogue's Met Gala China: Through The Looking Glass special edition, starring model Sun.
